Oldest and Rarest Greek Wine!Special Order.
The invasion of Greece during WWII left the Karelas Family’s production of the 1944 vintage Mavrodaphne unsold. It has been registered and certified through the years as “Mavrodaphne of Patras” with the Greek Government. Patras, Greece is the birthplace of Mavrodaphne, and the Karelas Family has been specializing in it’s production since the 1930’s. Their expertise shows in the awards they have been receiving in Greece and abroad. To celebrate the company’s entry into a new era, the company decided to bottle 1,000 bottles from their 10,000 liter wooden vat where the mavrodaphne has layed undisturbed for over 67 years. This rarest and oldest of all Greek wines is available while supplies last as a special order.
